Factors to consider when selecting the hammer head of a hammer crusher

The hammer head is the main component and vulnerable part of a hammer crusher. The appropriate selection of the hammer head has a significant impact on the crushing efficiency of the hammer crusher. There are many issues to consider when choosing a hammer, and there are two important factors to consider.

1. Material characteristics

Material properties are an important factor to consider when choosing a hammer. When selecting a hammer head material, it is necessary to fully understand the composition, hardness, particle size, sharpness of sharp corners, moisture content, etc. The material to be broken has been proven through research and practice that as the hardness of the material increases within the range of Hm=0.8-1.1Ha (Hm is the hardness of the metal material, Ha is the hardness of the material), the wear resistance of the material will improve. Therefore, the hardness of the hammer head should be more than 0.8 times that of the material. On this basis, it is also necessary to consider the size of the hammer head and the speed of the crusher rotor, and choose a reasonable material that matches the hardness and toughness.

2. Impact load size

The impact load is the key to material selection. Generally, the larger the block size of the material, the higher the toughness of the hammer head is required to ensure its performance. The diameter of the loose material is generally between 800-1000mm, and the hammer head can withstand a large impact load. Therefore, alloyed high-strength and high manganese steel should also be selected. Their high toughness can ensure normal use, and high initial hardness and strength can ensure high wear resistance. Small and medium-sized hammers generally weigh 5-15kg. If high manganese steel is used, its work hardening characteristics cannot be fully utilized. Therefore, when the material particle size is not large, carbon chromium nickel molybdenum alloy steel hammer heads and high chromium cast iron should be selected to prevent wear of hammer crushers.

Due to the frequent use of hammer crushers for crushing work, the equipment is prone to wear and tear after prolonged use, resulting in a decrease in efficiency. Therefore, in order to prevent wear and tear of hammer crushers, we can take the following four precautions.

1. Persist in cleaning the crushing chamber of the hammer crusher every day to ensure that the interior is clean and free of foreign objects, and to ensure safe production.

2. The height of the rib plate of the hammer crusher can be slightly reduced, and it is recommended to be 5 centimeters higher than the grate. At the same time, some reinforcing plates that are conducive to strengthening the rib plate strength can be welded on the side of the rib plate, effectively enhancing the wear resistance and anti jumping ability of the grate.

During the production process, the staff always pay attention to some abnormal behaviors of the crusher, such as severe vibration and noise exceeding the usual level. They should immediately stop the machine for inspection to see if there are any foreign objects or severely worn parts, and deal with them in a timely manner to avoid spending more money on these maintenance issues in the future.

4. Pay attention to preventing iron and other difficult to break metal materials from entering the crusher, causing faults in the crushing chamber and serious wear of accessories. To prevent this from happening, we can use a magnetic separator to suck away the difficult to break metal foreign objects in the hammer crusher compartment before feeding.

Once the hammer crusher wears out, it will inevitably affect its crushing effect and damage the interests of the enterprise. Therefore, in order to avoid this situation, it is necessary to take preventive measures in advance.
